Welcome to the website of Whitepool and Rainbow Belted Galloways
Return to home page

You can often find the Whitepool and Rainbow Belted Galloway show team at a number of shows throughout the year. We tend to start the season showing at North Somerset and then go on to Newark and Notts Show. We then attend The Bath and West, Three Counties and Royal Highland, having previously exhibited at the Royal Show.

We are delighted to announce the sale of some of our cattle to Victory Cattle Ltd, Rosmindle - Carrowholly, Westport, Co Mayo, Ireland who have a base in Normandy, France, where the cattle have been exported to.

Included in the consignment is the following:

  • Barclosh Daisy with her August 2009 heifer calf, Whitepool Daisy, by Rainbow Radar
  • Whitepool Lady Day, a February 2008 heifer who was Junior heifer champion RASE 2009. By Lullendon The Abbot out of a Mochrum Kyle cow Muil Cindy who was sold at the Whitepool production sale last year
  • Whitepool Midnight Mystique, a November 2008 daughter of Southfield Double-O-Seven out of Mosshayes Daybreak who had a distinguished show career
  • Whitepool Marianna, a January 2009 daughter of Southfield Double-O-Seven out of Whitepool Mirage who has had many show ring successes.

Other Belted Galloways have gone from John Corrie and Anne Bell, along with Highland cattle from Woodneuk and Hellifield and Aberdeen-Angus cattle from Donald Biggar.

Kicking off our 2010 show season with a bang, we are celebrating a win at North Somerset Show.

We started by winning the cow and calf class with Whitepool Moonbeam, before winning the senior heifer class with Whitepool Lily (Whitepool Kinsman x Laldylane Fern), as well as taking second place with Whitepool Moondust (Southfield Double-o-Seven x Whitepool Moondancer).

Whitepool Lily and Whitepool Moondust then teamed up to win the pairs class and we took the championship with Whitepool Moonbeam and the reserve championship with Whitepool Lily.

Saturday 31st October saw the reduction sale of some of our finest genetics held at Worcester market. A packed ringside of buyers, many having travelled from across the country found great delight in competing for all ages of stock on offer culminating in a top bid of 3000gns.

Our sale leader was the much admired and stylish red and white maiden heifer Whitepool Living the Dream. Out of a homebred cow by Kinrea Triumph, she was placed 2nd at the Three Counties Show. Taking her home was JC Oliver, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Another maiden heifer Whitepool Leona, a successful show winner throughout the summer levelled at 2750gns to C McMillan, Ockiltree, Ayr. Cows and calves were closely followed with "Barclosh Debbie" suckling a heifer calf peaked at 2750gns to M Williams, Rowlestone, Hereford.

In-calf cows were also in much demand, selling up to 2650gns for the 4 year old cow Whitepool Christobel. She was bought by J Landers, Newton Stewart, Dumfries.

The first heifers to be offered for sale publically by our stock bull Double-O-Seven topped at 2500gns which was particularly impressive as these were just 10 months old.

We would like to thank everyone who purchased stock from the sale and we wish you the very best for the future.
